FAQS

WHAT IS THE PRICE RANGE AT VEKA?
Our made-to-order gowns range from $1,700 - $5,000.

WHAT DOES MADE-TO-ORDER MEAN?
Made-to-order means that there is no stock of your gown and the making of the gown begins once you place your order. The most important thing to note is that made-to-order gowns are ordered to the closest numerical dress size, depending on the designer, and based on measurements taken at VEKA. The gown is not made to exact measurements - that is called made-to-measure. In order to achieve the perfect fit, the bride must seek the assistance of a seamstress or tailor once the gown has arrived. *Several of our designers provide a made-to-measure option for an additional fee.

DO I NEED AN APPOINTMENT?
Yes, our private consultations are by appointment only and are recommended for brides who are on the serious hunt and ready to purchase their made-to-order gown. Please use our online scheduler to book your appointment here. If you need a later appointment than what you see available, please email us at veka@vekabridal.com.

For inspiration before coming in, check out our DESIGNER page to get an idea of our selection before booking a full appointment with us.

HOW LONG WILL MY APPOINTMENT BE?
Our private appointments are scheduled for one hour to 90 minutes, but rest assured that if we run over, we will happily schedule another appointment with you. If you are not local to NYC, let us know in advance so that we can accommodate a longer time with you.

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I BEGIN DRESS SHOPPING?
We recommend that you begin dress shopping 9-12 months in advance of your wedding date, purchasing 8-10 months in advance of your wedding date. This is to ensure you are not rushed and have time for fittings.

WHAT IF THERE IS A GOWN THAT I LIKE FROM ONE OF YOUR DESIGNERS, BUT YOU DON'T CARRY A PARTICULAR SAMPLE?
We can often request samples from brands we carry, please email veka@vekabridal.com to inquire.

WHAT SIZE GOWNS ARE AVAILABLE TO TRY ON AT VEKA?
Most of our dress samples range from size US4-10, but please note that your custom gown can be ordered up to a size 16, depending on the designer. If your sizing is outside the range mentioned above, we recommend emailing us at veka@vekabridal.com beforehand so we can show you which gowns we have in 12+.

DO YOU OFFER CUSTOM GOWNS?
Nearly all of our designers can make slight altercations, ie: short sleeves vs. long sleeves, different necklines and backs to accommodate a bra , but most of our gowns are ordered true to the intention and design of the gown.

HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN I BRING TO MY APPOINTMENT?
We believe that your fitting should be as intimate as possible. We want the focus to stay on you and finding a gown that represents your authentic self. We’ve found that sometimes too many opinions can be overwhelming and stressful. We are limiting parties to 2 guests in addition to the bride. Please reach out if you have special circumstances.

DO I NEED TO BRING ANYTHING TO MY APPOINTMENT?
We invite you to bring any undergarments, preferably nude, or shoes that you’re considering wearing on your wedding day.

WHAT IS THE START-TO-FINISH PROCESS OF PURCHASING A VEKA GOWN?
Your initial appointment will include an hour long session with either Jana or Ksenia where you will try on our gown samples. If a made-to-order gown purchase is made, we'll take your measurements and order the closest dress size to be made. Once the gown arrives, you'll come back in for a follow up appointment to pick up your gown and do final inspections. You will then consult with our seamstress to do any final alterations, hem the gown and make sure the gown is fit to perfection. Between VEKA and your chosen seamstress, expect to attend at least 4 fittings from start to finish.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE FOR MY MADE-TO-ORDER GOWN TO ARRIVE?
Depending on the designer you move forward with, there is a 4-8 month lead time for all made-to-order gowns. We have some very select styles that can be made in less time, so if you're in a time crunch, email veka@vekabridal.com for more info. Rush orders are available upon request, but keep in mind that fees will apply.

DO YOU OFFER/INCLUDE ALTERATIONS?
Alternations are a separate cost from the purchase of your gown. We have one in-house seamstress and are able to offer alterations to a limited number of brides. In addition , we have connected with a handful of local seamstresses in NYC to refer you to. Please note, we are not in any contractual agreements with our recommended seamstresses, nor do we receive any payment from them for your business.

HOW MUCH DO ALTERATIONS TYPICALLY COST?
Depending on the severity of your alterations needs, expect costs to range from $400-$800 on average. For any major customizations or fit needs, costs can go upwards of $1,000+

WHAT IS A TRUNK SHOW?
A trunk show is a limited period of time for brides to view additional styles from a particular designer outside of what VEKA has previously curated in store. In some cases, there is special pricing available during the show. These trunk shows are by appointment only and have limited times to view, so please book your appointment as soon as you know you want to be part of this experience.

IS THERE A CANCELLATION POLICY?
Yes, we kindly ask that you give us at least 48 hours notice if you need to cancel or re-schedule your fitting. Since we are appointment-only, we thank you in advance for your cooperation, as we take in a very limited amount of brides a day. Under 24 hours from the appointment, the fitting fee will not be refunded.

RETURNS + EXCHANGES
Made-to-order gowns, Sample Sale gowns, and jewelry are all final sale. Once you’ve placed a deposit on a made-to-order gown or a sample sale gown, you are in a contractual agreement to follow through with the gown chosen.

We look forward to having you in soon!

Warmly,

JANA + KSENIA
